Cocktail or mocktail - Make it zero-proof
With just three ingredients, this cocktail is a breeze to make. It's really the flavor combination that makes it shine.
For a family-friendly drink you'll want to make this non-alcoholic. Plus, knowing how to create tasty mocktails is a great trend. Zero-proof cocktails are hot right now in the drink world. See my food trend report for more interesting info!
Make a mocktail the entire family can enjoy by swapping the sparkling wine for seltzer.
It's that simple. The kids will love sipping on this flavorful drink, but so will your zero-proof friends!
How to make a ginger drink:
I think fresh ginger goes well in just about any fruity drink. Ok, there are exceptions, but it's a fave. Sometimes I make a ginger simple syrup for my cocktails and mocktails, but I wanted this flavor to really stand up to the peach nectar.
I added freshly grated ginger to the peach ginger fizz.
The key is to grate the ginger very finely. I use a Microplane grater, like this one. Peel and grate the ginger over a cutting board or bowl so you capture not only the lovely pulp but the juices that come with it. The Microplane grater helps pull the woody strings out of the ginger so you don't end up with them in your drink.
Make peach ginger fizz for a summer party, or just a weeknight dinner with the family. It's certain to make any summer day wonderful.
I add this freshly grated ginger right to my drink mixture. With ice and all the other lovely flavors, it adds that fresh, zesty punch.
How to rim a cocktail glass with sparkling sugar:
The key to a fun drink is to make if festive and pretty. I rimmed the cocktail glasses with sparkly crystal sugar for that added flare.
To rim a cocktail glass simply rub the cut side of a lime or lemon wedge on the top rim of the glass then dip it in a bowl or your sugar or salt.
The citrus juice doesn't melt the sugar like water would, and helps it stick to the glass quite well.
Serving suggestions
I love fun glasses for cocktails, but if you're turning this peach ginger fizz into a mocktail for the kids, these plastic cocktail glasses are just the thing. Shatter proof and easy to use at a party.
If you'd like to make this for a crowd, you can multiply the amounts to as much as you need.
To make this ahead, mix the ginger and peach nectar and keep in in the fridge. When ready to serve, add the sparkling wine or water and pour over ice.

Very interesting! I don't think I have ever thought of adding fresh ginger to a drink. I love the flavor in both Asian cooking and gingerale, so not sure why! I will have to give it a try!
