    Fall means crisp air, cozy flavors, and of course apple season! Whether you’ve just been apple picking or brought home a bag of fresh apples from the market, I’ve gathered my apple desserts for fall, and savory fall apple recipes you'll love!

    What to do with excess apples

    Cooking with apples is the best way to use excess apples, and my recipes are perfect any time of year.

    Of course desserts with apples are ideal because baking or cooking the apples really brings out the flavor and sweetness. Apple pies and tarts often use 3 to 6 apples so they are the perfect way to use all the extra ones in your produce drawer.

    Are your apples soft, wrinkly or on their way out? Wait! They are still great for baking. Peel off the wrinkly skin, slice or chop them, and bake them in a dumpling or pie.

    Seasonal salads are also a genius way to use excess apples, and a great way to feature apples better for eating than baking, like Honey Crisp or Fuji. Reserve apple such as Rome Beauty and Empire for baking because they are soft and sweet and break down well in pies.
